“With thanks to Writers’ HQ, our supreme writing commanders, glorious leaders and excellent but tiny overlords, who have verily granted us permission to use their splendid and sweary Privacy Policy.”

Email newsletters and marketing

If you sign up to our newsletter, we will send you a newsletter – generally around once a month, but occasionally more if there is more interesting stuff to tell you. You can unsubscribe at any time by clicking the unsubscribe button in every email. Your name and email address are stored securely in Mailchimp.

Mailchimp automatically adds tracking things to links so if you click on a link, open an email or you ignore us then we can find out. Occasionally we might look and raise an eyebrow but we don’t do a thing with this info other than that.

Social media

We use social media to promote our classes and workshops primarily although our business is studio hire so perhaps that should be on there. We reply to messages because that’s polite but otherwise don’t interact. You are not required to follow our social media accounts what Facebook and Twitter do with your data or indeed ours is their affair.

Visitor tracking

We use Google Analytics which doesn’t as far as we know store personal data about you but might know your IP address, not that we would do anything with that if we found it. All we see is that people use our website, we might check where you come from as we pay for Google Adwords.

Cookies

Yes we use cookies because Google Analytics uses cookies to track visitor numbers and behaviour.

Payment details

We hold none.

Data storage

Mailchimp: If you’ve signed up for our newsletter on our site your name and email address also wings its way over to Mailchimp, which is the system we use to manage our newsletters and emails. They are GDPR compliant you’d imagine but you could ask if worried. You can unsubscribe from emails at any time by hitting the unsubscribe button at the bottom of every email.

We used to hold data because we had members back in the day c.2000-2004 possibly. All of that has been deleted because it was over 14 years ago. We don’t have any more data.
